Valentino – Fall 2011 RTW

In Paris today, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli revealed Valentino’s fall collection. Full of knee-length A-line skirts and modest necklines, multi-textured dress, leather trenches awash in soft blushes, deep chocolate browns and ivories, the collection remained most certainly feminine with thinly belted waists and demure hair styles. Valentino – Spring 2011 – Prêt-à-Porter

Elegance was in abundance in Paris on October 5, as Pier Paolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri displayed designs for Valentino’s Spring 2011 Ready to Wear collection that were certainly for la femme with the chiffon, lace, and soft ruffles. Carried out in a very neutral palette – black, nude, white, taupe and a touch of coral, there wasn’t one design that had me questioning their abilities or foresight to attract a younger audience. Bring Me Blouses!

The rotation of my closet is about to begin. Sweaters will soon be boxed up and put away, and beautiful bright, floral blouses will be moving to the forefront of my closet. The last few days of sixty and seventy degree weather has done wonders for helping me get through the work week and finally to the much anticipated weekend. And that means my wardrobe is taking a new shape as well.

One pleasure that I enjoy while shopping is finding an unexpectedly beautiful, feminine blouse that is flattering to the figure and gorgeous on the eyes. So in preparation for an upcoming shopping trip to Portland, I decided to do a little window shopping online to prime my shopping muscles, if you know what I mean.
