Carolina Herrera – Spring 2013 RTW

A dream of soft whites, pearly blues, buttery yellows and tangerine sauntered down Carolina Herrera’s Spring 2013 runway Monday morning at Lincoln Center. Below the knee skirts were quite prevalent as well as nipped waists and piping lined jackets and short trench coats. Have a look.

Carolina Herrera – Pre-Fall 2011

Carolina Herrera’s Pre-Fall 2011 collection is nothing short of glamorous and grand. Simple, flattering lines, greys, pewters, winter whites, black and a bit of shimmer give her designs a confidently feminine appeal that states, “excess isn’t necessary because I know what I’m wearing is fabulous.”

Carolina Herrera – Spring 2011 RTW

Themes and trends are slowly arising out of Mercedes Benz’s New York Fashion week and one trend that Carolina Herrera is proudly showcasing is the wide brimmed hat (along with Marc Jacobs).  Add feminine pencil skirts and silhouette hugging dresses and cinched waistlines and a woman’s mystique is safely in tact.

Said to have been inspired by the traditional clothes of Korea and botanical plates collected in the eighteenth century, many of her dresses displayed intricate prints designs. Oddly enough though, Herrera choose to use a wide brimmed straw hat typically worn by Korean men which was a creative juxtaposing for such a feminine collection.  And while the models themselves looked fantastic and even more so in her designs, Caroline Herrera radiated the ideal she paraded down the runway as she thanked her audience at the end of the show.  To view the entire collection, click here.

Bring Me Blouses!

The rotation of my closet is about to begin.  Sweaters will soon be boxed up and put away, and beautiful bright, floral blouses will be moving to the forefront of my closet.  The last few days of sixty and seventy degree weather has done wonders for helping me get through the work week and finally to the much anticipated weekend.  And that means my wardrobe is taking a new shape as well.

One pleasure that I enjoy while shopping is finding an unexpectedly beautiful, feminine blouse that is flattering to the figure and gorgeous on the eyes. So in preparation for an upcoming shopping trip to Portland, I decided to do a little window shopping online to prime my shopping muscles, if you know what I mean.  Have a look and maybe you’ll find something that would be a perfect addition to your spring wardrobe.
