Carolina Herrera – Spring 2011 RTW
Themes and trends are slowly arising out of Mercedes Benz’s New York Fashion week and one trend that Carolina Herrera is proudly showcasing is the wide brimmed hat (along with Marc Jacobs). Add feminine pencil skirts and silhouette hugging dresses and cinched waistlines and a woman’s mystique is safely in tact.
Said to have been inspired by the traditional clothes of Korea and botanical plates collected in the eighteenth century, many of her dresses displayed intricate prints designs. Oddly enough though, Herrera choose to use a wide brimmed straw hat typically worn by Korean men which was a creative juxtaposing for such a feminine collection. And while the models themselves looked fantastic and even more so in her designs, Caroline Herrera radiated the ideal she paraded down the runway as she thanked her audience at the end of the show.
