Julia Roberts & Tom Hanks – W Magazine June 2011

There are a handful of films that I am eagerly waiting to view this summer, and high a top that list is Larry Crowne. Written, directed, produced and starring Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts stands right beside him. And with their comically, yet playful chemistry, this film looks absolutely hilarious and heart-warming. Due to this stellar pairing, W Magazine, took Hanks and Roberts and placed them on their June 2011 cover.  Have a look.

Cannes Film Festival – 1st Week

The much awaited annual Cannes Film Festival held it’s opening ceremonies this evening with the panel’s chairman, Robert De Niro and other jurors – Uma Thurman, Jude Law, Linn Ullmann, daughter of Liv Ullmann, Olivier Assayas and Johnnie To, Nansun Shs, Martina Gusman and Mahamat-Saleh Haroun, arriving to view the opening film by Woody Allen Midnight In Paris starring Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams, Michael Sheen and Carl Bruni, although Bruni was not in attendance as she cited personal and professional conflicts.

Fashion on the French Rivera, is there a better couple? The first few days on the red carpet for the 64th Cannes Film Festival have been full of looks from the spring 2011 runways and haute couture shows. Here’s a look at the most simply luxurious.

Sarah Jessica Parker – Cover Elle US – January 2011

Being the President and Chief Creative Officer at Halston and Halston Heritage, as well as an actress, mother, mogul and style icon doesn’t seem to be slowing down Sarah Jessica Parker one iota. Appearing on the cover of Elle US January 2011 issue, she looks casually cool and elegant simultaneously.

I must admit whenever SJP is a cover girl, it doesn’t seem to matter what magazine it is, it ends up making its way home, and I continual to be inspired by her business savvy and fashion sense.  Take a look at the entire photo shoot below taken by Tom Munro.

Valentino – Spring 2011 – Prêt-à-Porter

Elegance was in abundance in Paris on October 5, as Pier Paolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri displayed designs for Valentino’s Spring 2011 Ready to Wear collection that were certainly for la femme with the chiffon, lace, and soft ruffles. Carried out in a very neutral palette – black, nude, white, taupe and a touch of coral,  there wasn’t one design that had me questioning their abilities or foresight to attract a younger audience. Click here to see the few pieces that are not below, as well as to read a full write up by Nicole Phelps.
