Jennifer Aniston Moving to NYC

Just this past weekend on one of the new blogs I have discovered and fallen in love with, Hooked on Houses, I discovered that Jennifer Aniston’s newly renovated Beverly Hills home is for sale as she is looking to relocate to New York City.

At the time, the newly revealed photos in the March 2010 issue of Architectural Digest were very much anticipated (click here to see the photos). Having named the house Ohana which means “extended family”, Aniston shared her reasoning for wanting to sell:

“I couldn’t sleep and I sort of had one of those moments where I went, I really need to simplify… and clear out the clutter. And along with that thought came, ‘I should sell my house.’ … I had the realization that this is just too much for me. I’m not this person.”

Listed at $42 million, I wish the best for her, as I have always been impressed with what she does next as it seems to reveal her quiet strength. While it was rumored that she purchased a 4-bedroom duplex in the West Village, the purchase appears to have fallen through and she is still on the hunt.

Rules Of Style – Jennifer Aniston

I must admit, I have been a fan of Jennifer Aniston’s casual, cool style for quite some time.  Maybe it’s California, maybe it’s being an actress, but it seems to me, it is just who Jennifer Aniston is – a girl who doesn’t let the fashions consume her.  This is admirable when it is clear, she certainly has the means to don the latest fashions season after season.

After paying close attention to the dresses, designers and styles Aniston chooses to wear whether she is on the red carpet or during the day, it is evident that she tends to prefer to keep it simple with her choice of clothing and the colors so that her own beauty can shine - a strategy that is working very well for her.  Her color palette is very neutral – black (a lot of black), golds, grays and denim blues – and her beautiful mane of hair and bronzed glow seem to be her accessories of choice. And with accessories like those you certainly don’t need much else to shine.

Since FRIENDS ended in 2004, Aniston has created her own film company, starred in more than a handful of films and demonstrated that her architectural taste is just as impressive as her acting.  (View Jen’s interior style as shown in Architectural Digest’s February 2010 issue.)

With all of the commotion around her, she seems to be very assured of where she is going, what to devote her energy to and what to ignore. With time and experience comes wisdom, and a sense of calm and comfort in one’s own skin, and Aniston certainly seems to have achieved this over the course of her career. Who she is now is someone much more intriguing than who she was when she was just beginning on the series FRIENDS.  And it also seems she has become more radiant. With that said, Aniston is proof that confidence is much more attractive than youth and good genes. (No pun intended.)

Together Again

Everyone seemed to be wondering when Jennifer Aniston would appear on her off-screen and onscreen friend’s hit television show Cougar Town, and we now finally know when.  Courtney Cox’s character will form an instant connection with her new shrink (played by Aniston) in the season premiere episode airing September 22nd at 9:30 on ABC.  Titled “All Mixed Up”, Jules (Cox) while immediately drawn to Glenn (Aniston) will quickly be shocked when she learns of the unfortunate, but comedic truth about her shrink’s method of treatment. A Friendly Funny Girl – Jennifer Aniston

With the recent release of the September issue of Harper’s Bazaar featuring Jennifer Aniston paying homage to Barbra Streisand, I feel like watching Katie Morosky and Hubbell Gardiner in The Way We Were or Fanny Brice in Funny Face. If nothing else to observe the striking resemblance between these both distinctly unique beauties. I honestly hadn’t realize the awesome similarities until this issue came out, and I couldn’t wait to share it with you.

Both Aniston and Streisand are women I admire for separate reasons: Aniston for her casual beauty and tenacity, and Streisand for her ability to be comfortable in her own skin and nurture and share her amazing talents.  Here are just a few of the major awards Streisand has earned:  she won her first Academy Award for Funny Girl in 1968 for Best Actress, in 1973 she was nominated for Best Actress in The Way We Were with Robert Redford, and won her second Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1976  for the song “Evergreen” in A Star is Born.  She has also won eight Grammy Awards. I think we need another word for talent when describing her abilities, don’t you?

In Harper’s Bazaar, Jennifer shares that she first met Streisand, now 68, only a few years ago at a New Year’s party, but states she has always admired her and views her as an icon.  "Barbra inspires me because there isn't anything she hasn't done that she wanted to do, especially as a female in the time when her generation was prime. She's a true renaissance woman."

Photographed by Mark Seliger in an old Los Angeles Theater, Aniston shines as Babs.  With three upcoming film releases, The Switch with Jason Bateman, Horrible Bosses with Colin Farrell and Just Go With It with Adam Sandler and Nicole Kidman, Aniston was a wonderful choice for the fall fashion issue that hits newsstands August 17th (okay, maybe I’m a bit bias – I’m a huge fan and always have been, I’ll admit it).
