The month of July has gotten away from me and during this time some very thoughtful and kind bloggers have passed on awards that simply made me smile upon receiving them.  The best part in receiving such accolades is that I too get to pass them on and that is a pleasure. Here we go!

And last, but certainly not least, Sabine of Psynopsis posed a challenge a few weeks ago that I decided I’d try to take on. What was it, you may be asking? 

CHALLENGE: Tell 6 positive things about yourself and post a picture of yourself that you like.

The photo above is probably when I was about 4, 5 or 6 years old.  I’m not exactly sure, but I have no memory of it, so when I came across it some years back, I said to myself Girl – always a thinker, lost in thought, but with such confidence, hold on to that!

As for six positive things I’d like to share about myself:

1) My colleagues, friends and students can recognize me simply by the “cackle” of my laugh. (Thank you grandma Janie!)

2) Dessert is my specialty in the kitchen.

3) Math is not my specialty, but I have a fantastic visual memory. 

4) I’m a self-starter and don’t usually need to be prompted to get something done.

5) I’m organized – lists are my friend, to-do lists, planners – love purchasing and picking them out – so much fun!

6) I’m a big dreamer – maybe a bit fairy tale-ish (as one of my friends reminds me), but I can’t help it.  If you don’t dream big and have hope for yourself, then who will?

I have been humbled in the past few weeks with the lovely emails, comments and awards from my readers.  Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts, yourselves and your time with me here at The Simply Luxurious Life, I am continually reminded that there are a lot of optimistic, hopeful and hardworking people out in this world, and I can’t tell you how reassuring that is.

With that said, I would like to take a moment to thank three beautiful and kind bloggers for bestowing upon me awards.

First of all, to Kiki, author of the cheerful and inspiring blog Life Sunnyside Down, thank you for the Outstanding Blogger Award. I am thrilled and behind in saying so.  My apologies for taking so long to pass this award along.

1. I’m an early bird – waking up at 7 is considered late to me.

Seeing Double!

 

What to wear, what to wear?  One of the most genuine and honest voices I have found through my time blogging is Kelly of Out of Colorado, and she again, has graciously bestowed upon Simply Luxurious not one, but TWO awards.  Upon accepting them, I was asked to share what I might wear if I had the opportunity to attend the “Blogger” Academy Awards.  Too many dresses, designers and styles to choose from, but I decided to stick with classics.  

The beautiful black Chanel gown worn by Penelope Cruz with a simple jeweled sandal by Manolo Blahnik and just a touch of diamond shimmer from Tiffany’s fabulous Jazz earrings. 

And my mode of transportation would be, in order to adhere to the theme, a 1956 Mercedez-Benz.
