Donna Karan – Resort 2013

Donna Karan’s 2013 Resort collection is a testament to the fact that inspiration can be found anywhere.  "Sit around and play with napkins long enough, and all of a sudden, you have a dress." With her customary hues of black, gray, nude and white, she included as well the feminine pink shade customary to Elsa Schiaparelli’s liking. With asymmetrical necklines, silhouette draped dresses, gowns, skirts and suits, the uniquely placed pleats keep her collection skillfully simple, but utterly impressive. Diane von Furstenberg – Resort 2013

With the iconic images of the United States as her muse, Diane von Furstenberg’s 2013 Resort collection, Tilted Zoom, with the help of her creative director Yvan Mispelaere is awash with a variety of different prints as each region of the country is depicted – palm trees from Florida, cobbled streets from New York city, hot air balloons representing the Southwest, skyscrapers from the city, all designed on beautiful loose silk blouses, thigh-skimming dresses and skirts, as well as cropped pants and jackets. A rainbow of beautifully chosen hues that are muted just enough, but not too much for ideal style while on vacation.
