Salvatore Ferragamo – Fall 2011 RTW

Black and white with many shades of gray. In Milan, Massimiliano Giornetti’s creations for Salvatore Ferragamo’s Fall ready-to-wear collection were classic and simple in color, but achingly gorgeous when it came to design. Have a look.

Gucci Pre-Fall 2011

In Milan a few weeks ago, Gucci’s Frida Giannini’s Pre-Fall 2011 collection exhibited a reminiscent tone of seventies style with turtlenecks, wide-leg pants, high-waisted trousers and elongated styles with flowing body-skimming dresses. Somewhat similar to her Spring RTW 2011 collection, where the 70’s appeared to be hinted at, she paired femininity with a bit of flare – a la the fedora. I have to say, I can’t help but gush, as I could see myself in so many of these tailored and beautiful styles (to see the entire collection, click here).

Dsquared² – Spring 2011 - RTW

Dean and Dan Caten, Dsquared², presented a rather low-key, preppy runway show in Milan this week that and while a change from what has been seen in the past, was something that still exuded a bit of allure that would have me perfectly clothed for a casual stroll or a relaxing day off.  With models donning oversized spec and straw hats, a bit of boyish appeal balanced out the seriousness, but not to completely stray from extravagance, the evening attire was simply impressive.  Have a look.

Gucci – Spring 2011 RTW

Frida Giannini, inspired for Gucci’s spring 2011 Ready to Wear collection by the late-seventies photographs of Guy Bourdin, David Bailey, and Chris von Wangenheim for the bold color palette, most certainly caught everyone’s attention. However, her attention to detail in her multi-strappy stilettos, leather corsets, gold belts and fringed designs exuded gorgeous glamour that was simply something I couldn’t pass up.  While a few of her designs are over the top, they demonstrate beautiful creativity and lovely allure. Have a look. I’d love to know what you think.
