Room for Inspiration

It is so often the environment we are in that dictates our mood, our creativity and therefore, our production for the day.  I am constantly rolling around in my head ways to redecorate certain rooms in my house to set a mood of peace, calm, comfort and joyful simplicity.  For me, this type of sanctuary is what allows me to create whether it be in my writing, cooking, thinking or conversation.  Today, I have included photographs of home libraries, home offices that will fuel your thoughts.

As George Glazer reminds us, “In the 18th century Age of Enlightenment, the library was a repository of books and a place of study, sanctity and quiet reflection for the well-heeled aristocratic owners of the great English Country houses in Great Britain.”  I do believe that time to reflect is mandatory if we are to progress in our passions.  Hopefully, you too have a room, a nook, a locale where you are able to do just that.

What necessities do you have to have in your office or the place where you create?  I’ll help get the conversation started.  I need some green or lavender tea to sip on, a comfy chair with light from a lamp, and flowers are always helpful.  A notepad or journal to write down thoughts has they come to me and inspiring photographs on the walls and desks to remind me of my blessings, goals and past achievements.  I look forward to hearing about the items that are on your list.  Have a wonderful Tuesday!
