Cups of Tea 8/29-9/4
With a yawn and a stretch and then the lovely realization that the alarm clock won’t be going off, Sunday begins.
How are you? I hope you are well. Yesterday, I spent a bit (okay, more than just a bit) of time visiting my favorite blogs and bloggers and catching up on all that you’ve shared during the past week. The environment of impressive ideas, optimism and support – oh, and don’t forget the intoxicating photos and images – is something I am so thankful to be able to enjoy and be a part of. This week’s Cups of Tea brings together some posts that will be easy on the eyes and hopefully will make you smile a bit too, as well as tips on how to handle tough decisions and a recipe you might want to consider if you’re someone who loves to visit your farmer’s market.
I’ll be sipping along with you this morning with my hot cup of tea in hand, maybe a Sunday paper too and most likely the US Open on CBS in the background. So go grab yourself something lovely to drink and maybe a treat to nibble on as well and have a look through some wonderful posts. I do hope you enjoy.
The image of a bathtub for some reason evokes a very relaxing tone in my mind, and I find myself entranced when I discover photographs of beautiful bathrooms with a soaker tub that is begging to be filled and leisured in. Peggy & Fritz created this exact situation with an abundance of gorgeous bathtubs that are a reminder that we all need to take a few moments for ourselves. Have a look.
Tomatoes are a plenty it seems at this time of the year at local farmer’s markets and even in your grocery store the delivery of heirloom tomatoes should be there for you to add to your cart. If you’re feeling ambitious and would like to store away some of what summer is sharing with us, Deb of Smitten Kitchen shares her recipe for tomato sauce that I’m sure tastes as good as it looks.
I recently discovered and have enjoyed tweeting with Julie of Brown Eyed Belle and I have a feeling you’ll appreciate her joie de vivre as well. In homage to summer, she has collected some delightful images that not only cause one to reflect on the memories of the last few months, but also to stop and appreciate the colors and beauty. Have a look, the song she has paired with it is a treat as well.
We all have them. A crossroads in life that presents us with an opportunity, but ultimately it comes down to a choice, a decision to act. Gretchen Rubin of The Happiness Project shares a very simple way of handling such a situation, and she makes a lot of sense.
Before we know it a habit is a part of our life, the thing we must keep in mind however, is to make the habits we are engaged in every day – the thoughts we circulate through our minds, the way we eat, the attitude with which we approach each day – ones that increase the quality of our lives instead of the alternative. Thank you Cara of Lilac and Grey for reminding us of something that can truly improve the quality of our lives.
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore,
is not an act but a habit.

Oh, I am chuckling at that last photo with the lady and her poodle!! Nothing like a good bubble bath and that tub is gorgeous! xo
Oh yum I'd love to give that sauce a try. And also a bath in that tub sounds heavenly.
Hope you're enjoying the weekend! xo
Thanks so much for your post. That was so sweet. I always love your recaps.
