Cups of Tea 6/27 – 7/3

A long weekend for some of us and a leisurely Sunday hopefully for all.  Whatever you may be up to, I hope it, as always, includes at least a little bit of something you enjoy.

This week’s Cups of Tea involve taking the reins and making things happen, a simply delicious dessert and one of my favorite posts of all time – ways to spend your weekend.  Enjoy. Oh, and don’t forget to grab a cup of steaming hot good morning serum.

1. Taking Charge
If nothing else, you must appreciate Madonna’s forthrightness, and if living the life she alone has created is what she was aiming for, her words are very true.  Cara, author of the beautiful and very enjoyable Lilac and Grey blog, paired an image from Madonna’s 2009 W magazine editorial to match her words perfectly.  Something to think about because I can’t say I’ve figured out a way to allow someone to read my thoughts yet, have you?

“A lot of people are afraid to say what they want. That's why they don't get what they want.”
-Madonna

2. A Summer Dessert
Well, summer has its bounty of fruits and other stunning treats, but when strawberries are paired with this particular Almond Cake shared by David Leibovitz, the flavor  will most certainly increase tenfold.  I am trying to find an excuse to try it sooner rather than later.

3. Beautiful Ways to Spend a Weekend
A blog and blogger who is very inspiring due to her eye for style and design, but also her generosity is Roseline of This is Glamorous.  This particular post pairs a smattering of images sharing ideas that one might want to enjoy during the course of a weekend.  The photos are perfect because so many different people can create in their own minds what they would do.  I simply fell in love with this post.  Absolutely delightful.

4. Resisting Temptation
Okay, so including a recipe for dessert probably isn’t the best pairing with a post about how to resist temptations, but on the other hand it may be perfect – who knows. Anastasiya of Balance in Me shares nine tips on how to handle those temptations whether they be food, feelings, money or anything else that tend to propel us into making  a decision we later regret.  Have a look, I have to say I found some sound advice.

5. Quote of Inspiration
Mr. Ralph Waldo Emerson has a way of cutting to the quick and with this quote it is no different.  Paloma of La Dolce Vita provided some lovely inspiration earlier in the week.

Have a wonderful and enjoyable day my readers. Au revoir!

Re: Madonna, Isn't that so true? We tend to pretend (even to ourselves) that we don't know what we want. But I have a hunch that the truth behind not knowing is the fear of knowing and saying it out loud.

Love this grouping! About to check out the links right now.

Hope you're having a great weekend!
