Fabulously Frazzled

Thankfully my work week ended last night, and I have a three day weekend to rest up from the frantic pace that I stepped into on Monday.  The paradox of it all it that it was lovely chaos because good things were happening all around me, with those I work with and for, and so for that I am very appreciative.  However, I felt like Nicole Kidman appears – haggard and feisty.

There are times that I simply want a minute to last for two, an hour to creep by for an afternoon, and to pleasantly look up at the clock and see that I still have more than enough time on my hands to complete my to-do list and take a few moments for myself.  Alas, I am not Old Man Time, so therefore, breaking all the clocks in the world won’t do a bit of good.

My de-stressing came in the form of exercise this week – more vigorously than I have recently pushed myself.  In fact, on Tuesday I found myself leading my dogs up a hill for about three hundred yards.  My thighs were screaming, but I was smiling. And then the sun came out at the top of my short hike.  That had to be a sign, right?  I know, I know, it was just the fickle spring weather behaving as it should, but it made me feel (if only for a moment) special, to think the heavens appreciated my effort.

And then, Thursday evening came, and all was well – serene, calm, pleasant.  The chaos was silenced, at least for a few days, until I can rev myself back up again.

So, I’m off to spruce up. A bit of pampering may be needed, and to catch up with a few friends while our dogs come along for the ride.

I hope the spring weather continues to behave this weekend for all of you, and you are able to find some time to catch a breath and spoil yourself.
