Style Inspiration: Basic Black
With fall in full gear, the staple that is always chic and reliable is black. Whether you have a favorite black leather jacket, little black dress, tailored black cropped pant, black pumps or a black silk scarf, it rarely is a bad decision. Working well to balance a bright signature skirt or blending perfectly with a unique print blouse, having a few essential pieces in such a tried and true color is never a bad idea. Have a look.

Gorgeous selection, Shannon - I especially love Leelee Sobieski's red coat! She wears it so well with the wide golden belt. Stunning!
Black is always a right choice, I totally agree!!

Great Fall looks!!
I too have been in a "black" mood lately, perhaps it is the change in seasons. Regardless I like it, to me black is a classic, never goes out of style.
If I had to choose just one colour for my investment pieces, it would DEFINITELY be black! Indeed, if I had to be even further restricted, and could only have one garment, it would unquestionably be the Little Black Dress in a simple shift style. Just because no other colour, no other garment is so incredibly versatile.
A few months back, I was invited to a swish cocktail party in le Petit Palais, just a short stroll from le Louvre. Exciting. But when I saw the 18.30 time on the invitation, I knew there was no way I could get home to change after work and out again. So I wore my simple black sheath with a cardigan and ballet flats to work, carrying a gold clutch, some leopard-print Louboutin stilettos, a pair of 10-denier stockings, and an opera length rope of pearls in my tote. At 17.45, I nipped into the ladies room, removed my cardie, vamped up my make-up with a slick of scarlet lipstick, put a few essentials in my clutch, a fresh spritz of perfume, and changed into my stilettos, stockings and pearls. Voilà, a day to evening look in just 15 minutes. What other garment could be that versatile, that it takes a humble working hospital doctor straight on to cocktails with the Sarkozys??? The LBD rocks!
Love the sweater, skirt, and pink pumps. I could totally rock that!!
I'm in love with photo's 3&4. I heart the color grey with black coming in at a close second :)
Thanks for the wonderful fall pics.
Thank you so much for the inspiration, dear! I saved almost all of my pictures on my laptop :)
