J.Crew – Spring/Summer 2012
For J.Crew’s first presentation during New York Fashion Week, Jenny Lyons Marissa Webb and their team compiled a bevy of casual chic looks that evoke personality and again mesh the feminine with the masculine. Inspired by the desire to travel “with a little bit of Francoise Hardy who is just gorgeous and has that feminine meets boy contrast that we always love to highlight” (Marissa Webb), it’s evident that J.Crew was ready for their debut.
With polka tie neck blouses, striped coats and navy and orange combinations, the collection demonstrated the quirky yet respectful approach to fashion and an individual’s sense of style. The clutches are something to notice as well even though they aren’t the focus of the presentation – medium in size and perfect for evening or a lunch. Overall, J.Crew’s tone remained the same – modern, yet with a slant toward the classic in its coverage and lengths. Have a look at the collection.

Delicious! (but not too crazy about the orange lips!)
I've got to say that I am truly disappointed in this collection! And I LOVE J.Crew! They are trying a LEETLE too hard, I think, to prove that ANYTHING can match ANYTHING...the muted lilac clutch with the hot yellow and turquoise outfit looked dreadful. And the orange lips...please--looked like Halloween's favorite wax lips! I wish I could have liked this more, but honestly, I thought what Jenna had on was the cream of the crop! Let's hope it's just a bump on their normally right-as-rain radar.
Love, Kay
Minus the neon coral puffed up lips I am loving just about everything here!
That coral clutch and green purse are giving me life. Now paying credit card down...
