Carolina Herrera – Spring/Summer 2012
Carolina Herrera again impressed her crowd and the cameras on Monday at New York Fashion Week with her spring/summer 2012 collection. Adorned with Antebellum Bakelite bangles and finished with her own creation of “a virtual wedge-heel sandal that encases the toes and ankles in transparent filaments” (Vogue), the models wore Bauhaus inspired designs that fluttered with each of their movements down the catwalk. Upon the fabric were Art Deco like designs and embroideries that were absolutely exquisite. With the pops of color coming from a buttery yellow and Kelly green, the foundation of the collection was shown in grays, subtle warm reds, grays, black and white. Sophisticated, original and pleasantly feminine as is Herrera’s calling card. Bravo.
