Splashes Of European Elegance With California Cool
Interior designer Dana Abbott’s California beach house in Corona del Mar, just a short drive up the coast from Laguna Beach, may not be what you’d typically expect. A mixture of European touches combined with a California ranch style architecture reveal a home that is begging its residents to relax, cozy up by the fire, cook a fabulous meal or simply just savor a glass of wine. Featured in October’s issue of House Beautiful, Abbott, with the help of business partner Kim Fiscus, demonstrate her talents in the many images below. Have a look.

The photo with the kitchen farm sink is lovely -- love the view out of the window. The kitchen windows in my kitchen are much like these in size with the ledge in the same place -- but they're the steel tudor windows w/individual panes & brass handles. I always wanted a farm sink, but mine's a white Koehler with white marble countertops. The photo of the cupboard with the white dishes speaks familiarity to me too, as I LOVE white dishes for their simplicity and ease in mixing with other colors and I have a ceiling to floor glass cupboard in my kitchen filled with all white. ;) Thanks for taking us to yet another fun place, girl. xoxo
the tub is DIVINE!!!!
The kitchen... the giant white bed... the vines...! I love it all! Supreme comfort and elegance.
I just stumbled onto your lovely blog. This house is just my style. I love it. And it is just up the coast from me. Think they would mind if I moved in with my tooth brush. I could live here and not change a thing. But really, all kidding a side, this is a simply, yet earthy elegant home. Love the kitchen island.
It's just beautiful! I love the tub and the sink and all of the other gorgeous touches. What a wonderful haven to escape to every day.
I can't pick one image as they are all divine. But if pushed it has to be the gorgeous bath tub (as I may have written before, I have a "thing" for bathrooms!)
What I wouldn't give to live here...! It's beautiful. I could just spend all day relaxing in a place like that.
