Cups of Tea 7/18 – 7/24

Good morning! Tea, a croissant and flowers – what a lovely way to greet the day. I do hope that you are waking up to some special surprise or have the opportunity to catch some more zzzz’s.  After all, we all need time to re-energize each week, so why not today?

This week’s Cups of Tea begins with one of my favorite posts because the photographer did such an exquisite job of portraying an ideal Sunday morning in the city – a story in pictures.  Also, this morning is a scrumptious recipe, a tried and true way to stay grounded no matter what success comes your way, a quaint and creative look at bedroom hideaways and an enlightening way to invite even more beauty into your life.  Enjoy perusing through and don’t forget to grab a cup of tea (or coffee – which ever you choose).

1. The Charmed Life

Jamie of the photography blog From Me to You shares some gorgeous images of a simple Sunday morning in New York City.  From the kitchen, to the pooch, well, just have a look – I think you might be impressed.  I know I was (and the fact that they too have a Cavalier King Charles spaniel doesn’t hurt).

2. A Gourmet Dessert

One of the many things that always impresses and delights me about blogging, is the endless supply of creative talent that you come across. Darjeeling Dreams is one such blog that is so creatively done – she involves, polaroids, photography, food and a classically simple lay-out to draw her readers in.  This particular post shares her version of Gourmet’s  Honey-Peach Caramel Pie. The name of the recipe alone makes my mouth water.  I can’t wait to try it.

3. True Success

Goodlife Zen’s Mary Jaksch shares a lovely post on not only how to achieve success, but how to remain grounded once you have accomplished your goal.  While many of her tips are common sense, they may be news to others. Besides, it never hurts to check in every once in awhile to see how you are doing.  Have a look.

4. A Nook to Nap In

As soon as I came across this post of images of beds tucked away in their own creative spaces, I knew I had to include it in this week’s Cups of Tea.  As a child, this would have been a dream boudoir to rest my head and dream the night away.  A tremendous thank you to Susan of The Zhush for sharing both beauty and play in these unique spaces.

5. Appreciation Pay Offs

Once again, Linda of  Simply Seductive has included a uniquely gorgeous image with a intriguing thought to ponder.  There really is no need for envy or jealousy if we instead revel in others’ successes as much as our own.  Imagine the positive energy we welcome into our lives in doing so.  Something to think about.

"Appreciation is a wonderful thing: It makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well." ~ Voltaire.

What a delightful quote! The tea image is very charming - it has a nostalgic feeling to it. Love the couple in bed, but am not keen on animals on beds, though... The last image is so swan-like, too. Happy Sunday!
