Ask for What you Want
A few years ago, the owners of this magnificent Georgian Revival estate came across what they now call home, but it wasn’t for sale. Not giving up on something they knew was perfect for them, they were offered an opportunity to meet the owner who, by chance, happened to be looking for a smaller home. So what did they do? They simply swapped homes. They purchased the estate they had been dreaming about named Cherryfields located in New Jersey, and she moved into their 1806 farmhouse located not too far away in Somerset County. Click here to learn even more about how this transaction came to be. It is quite interesting.
Photographed by Simon Upton for Elle Decor in the most recent issue (July/August), the furniture is stunning, as well as their creative ideas for decorating. I could easily live in this beautiful home. Have a look.

The library includes matching leather sofas wrapped around a beautiful fireplace.

What a splendid outcome! I love those turquoise chairs, with the blue cushions in front of the military maps. Also, that lovely grey wall in the kitchen, so calming.
Thanks for sharing this story!
that is one great history - and one great house...
ps: there is a house that me and my man have been stalking but it is way out of our league... but who knows?
