Michael Kors – Fall 2012 RTW

With inspiration derived from the glamorous 1930s couples such as Clark Gable and Carole Lombard, Michael Kors’ Fall 2012 collection was regal, classic, but also full of layers of mohair, alpaca and simple, yet stunning tweed. With a color palette that we’ve come to look forward to – reds, black, shades of gray and camel, his sequin gowns draped beautifully and his skirts kissed the models just as a woman might want. Have a look.

I'm happy to see all the sparkle, as I love sequins and will invest in some sequined items for spring.

I'm sorry, but this collection leaves me cold. It's not what we've come to expect from Michael Kors. In fact, I find it rather silly. Maybe I need a few more swigs of coffee..

I love the red dresses, but the rest leave me uninspired. Perhaps it is just me...the sequins are lovely too.

Initially I thought the same thing, but there is something simplistic, yet welcoming regarding the fabric he chooses, thereby comforting the woman wearing the clothes and letting her shine instead of the clothes doing the talking. But that's just my two cents. :)
