The Weekend . . .
There is something so comforting about the arrival of the weekend. Something I can’t quite put my finger on because it so fleeting, and before I know it Friday evening has morphed in to Sunday afternoon. Basically it comes down to feeling as though the past work week was an accomplishment (despite those always challenging moments) and the few days off ahead are running wild with freedom to do and be and to see and to experience to my heart’s content.
Such a weekend awaits to be devoured and savored. A gentle evening at home and then a trip away out of town (my version of the Hamptons here in Oregon) where jaunts to a chocolatier cafe, the farmer’s market and many other small local shops along the way beckon me to snoop around and simply dawdle about paying no mind to the time. Conversations, homemade meals and walks on country roads with the dogs are also on the menu as I dream about all that this summer has the potential of bringing.
What do you most look forward to on the weekend? Maybe you’re attending a graduation or enjoying a relaxation weekend at home after a busy last long weekend. Whatever you may be up to, I hope you are well, and I can’t thank you enough for stopping by The Simply Luxurious Life. Here’s is a look back on the highlights of the past week on the blog:
*30 Ways to Find Tranquility in Your Day
*Rachel Zoe – Resort 2012 (I think you will like what you see)
*Fontina Tomato Tart – a delicious summer treat
*Paris, Baby! – Book Review – 4 1/2 stars
*17 Benefits of Being Yourself
*The weekly newsletter - #51 – Keep putting your best foot forward, the pay off is coming
Just recently, a handful of online magazines were featured in the New York Times (Lonny, Rue, High Gloss and Matchbook) with an interesting write-up, and as a result Grace Bonney of Design*Sponge wrote a very sincere commentary post. I wanted to share it with you, as I found myself agreeing with Bonney as I felt the same way while reading the piece in the Times. If you are interested, here are the two links: New York Times article, Design*Sponge post.
My takeaway from both of these pieces is an overwhelming sense of gratitude regarding you, my readers. The choices that are out there to read online and in hard print are beyond plentiful, as I am exposed to them as well, and I can’t thank you enough for your time, comments, emails and support. I thoroughly love the time I put into The Simply Luxurious Life, and now that I have found this outlet, I can’t imagine not communicating with you in this way. Thank you, truly . . . thank you.
Have a lovely weekend, and I look forward to seeing you on Monday. Bonjour.

This weekend I plan to truly relax. The next one is extremely busy. An afternoon movie/lunch date with the Mr is in the works today, and tomorrow simply relax with my cafe au lait and June magazines at my new patio table.
