Christian Siriano – Spring 2011 RTW

Christian Siriano’s fifth collection caused quite a stir and that was before the show even began. People were clamoring with excitement and among those seated were Saks Fifth Avenue president Ron Frasch and Neiman Marcus fashion director Ken Downing whose stores both carry Siriano’s collection.

In explaining his inspiration for his Spring 2011 collection, Siriano stated that it was a mélange of a variety of cultures he has yet to visit, "A bit of African, a bit of Asian, a bit of Mediterranean-Greek."

Based on the many tweets of impressed viewers, I couldn’t wait to take a look at his 41 piece collection which was revealed on Thursday, September 9, and upon finally taking a look at it myself, I am impressed. While his two red-carpet gowns are beyond over-the-top and extremely impressive (my favorite is the one above), his cocktail dress, jackets, corset belts and leather jackets and shorts are something that one could easily incorporate into their life with ease. If you would like to view the entire collection, click here. I’ve included a view of my favorite pieces below. Have a look and feel free to share your thoughts. I’d love to hear.

Love love LOVE!! The white and the brown look so clean. And I'm a sucker for ruffles. ;)
