Style Inspiration: Colors & Designs
Blair Eadie of the widely popular style blog Atlantic-Pacific revealed a winter outfit of creative color and design this week that I was immediately inspired by (fourth photo from the bottom).
While involving color or graphic design into our wardrobes can be intimidating at times especially when we are trying to stray away from trends and build a classic wardrobe, the addition of a quality, unique print on a classic cut of clothing can have a very successful outcome. The key is to pair such a piece with solid neutral colors such as black, grey, camel, brown or a shade of white. Creating a proportionate balance between the muted, yet well-tailored piece along with the signature colorful item reveals confidence, yet restraint at the same time. A wonderful combination.

This is always my favourite post of the week and this one is as good as always x
I enjoy colour and print alot but I agree, you really have to be careful what you're pairing it with so that the whole outfit is not overpowering. I have one friend who almost never wears colour - it's always black or white. Anytime a cardigan is required, she always chooses black. I dunno, it just comes across as very boring when that's ALWAYS the choice...going wild with colour for her means wearing a purple shirt. I have experimented more with colour and print over the last year or 2 - I have a winter purple paisley skirt and a spring orange pencil skirt - both have looked really nice when paired with neutral tops. I have a fair bit of print and colour in terms of tops in my closet and several neutral skirts to pair with!
