Style Inspiration: Black & Blue
French designer Yves Saint Laurent boldly and successfully demonstrated that pairing navy and black is a timeless fashion “do”. And while with frigid winter temperatures, it can be easy to adhere only to black, why not pull out some of your favorite navy pieces (shoes, sheath dresses, blouses & coats) and pair them with classic black basics to mix it up a bit?

Shannon: What a lovely way to start the 2013 "style inspiration" post! I love each and every one of these inspirations and hope to incorporate some of these ideas this year. Thank you:)
I adore black and Navy. Wearing that combo today in fact. Sometimes people say to me, "Did you realize that you have on a navy sweater? Did you think it was black?" Aaargh. Yes, thank you - I planned it this way. Ha ha ha. I always thought it was a chic combination and lifted the black to a little something more. Great post. Thank you!
I am going with this combination more and more! Very good looking!

One of my most favourite clothing purchases that I just made in Paris over the holidays is a navy and black striped sweater:) The combination looks unbelievably chic.
