Oscar de la Renta – Resort 2012
The venue was different and the approach was different, but what remained constant was Oscar de la Renta’s ability to impress and express feminine style with his Resort 2012 collection Monday night. For the past several years, de la Renta has opted for a church on Park Avenue, however, being inspired by Picasso’s cubist period, a 42nd Avenue showroom hoisted high above Manhattan’s streets allowed for the jutting sky-line to create its own geometric background.
With paper hats on nearly all of the models, a touch of Oscar’s Spanish roots were hinted at with matador-esque jackets and tassel fringe on some of the accessories. Have a look. I’d love to know what you think. (Click here to see the entire 62 piece collection.)
